A large fire at a scrap yard fire in Halifax kept firefighters busy over the weekend.
Officials say crews were called to a metal scrap yard in Goodwood just after 6 a.m. on Saturday but were unable to put the flames out until about 4 p.m.
Nobody was hurt, but the blaze forced some local businesses to close.
As well, RCMP said on Twitter that the section of Prospect Road at Mills Drive had to be closed for several hours because of the fire.
Joe Fulton, acting district chief with Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency, said some personnel had remained on the site to put out hot spots.
Officials said there are a few homes in the immediate area but they were not aware of any residents having to be evacuated due to the fire.
