Two arrested in Dartmouth armed robbery (update)

Two people have been arrested in an armed robbery investigation Thursday afternoon.

Halifax Regional Police say at around 1:30 p.m., two people with a firearm demanded a man's property as he was sitting in a vehicle.

It happened on Windmill Road near Wright Avenue.

The victim wasn't hurt and the suspect took off in a vehicle.

Officers say they found the suspect's vehicle on Courtney Road.

The road was closed, the area was cordoned off and police asked the public to stay away as they investigated.

Nearby Harbour View Elementary was placed on a hold and secure.

Police have now taken a man and a woman — who were found inside a residence — into custody.

The scene has now been cleared, the road is reopened and students have been dismissed for the day.

Anyone with information or video from the area is asked to call police at 902-490-5020, or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
