Nova Scotia rock and roll legend Myles Goodwyn passes away at 75

Myles Goodwyn, the lead singer of the legendary rock band April Wine, has passed away.

Publicist Eric Alper said the Waverley, Nova Scotia resident passed away in a hospital in Halifax at noon Sunday.  Alper said no further details on the cause of death were to be released.  Funeral details are expected to be released at a later date, and Goodwyn’s family has asked for privacy.

Goodwyn, along with David and Ritchie Henman, rocketed to fame in the 70s and 80s with hits like Rock and Roll is A Vicious Game and Roller and Oowatanite.  The band sold over 10 million albums worldwide, was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2010, and was inducted into Canada’s Walk of Fame in September.

Goodwyn was 75.
