HRCE closes schools as HRM digs out after nor’ easter

Many in HRM and across Nova Scotia will spend part of Valentine’s Day digging out from the latest nor’ easter to dump snow on the region.
Weather warnings that were in effect most of the week have been lifted, but the cleanup continues.
HRCE has closed all their schools today to allow snow removal to continue.
Dalhousie University is shutting down its Halifax campuses today as will NSCC, SMU, and NSCAD…the latter two saying there will be no classes (either online and in-person) as well.
Mount Saint Vincent University will delay opening until at least noon with on-campus classes scheduled before then cancelled and buildings closed.
Due to road conditions, TCRCE schools in Yarmouth & Shelburne counties will be closed today. Digby County will remain open. All SSRCE, CCRCE and SRCE schools will be closed today. AVRCE schools are open. Bus drivers will use their discretion on roads
As for snowfall amounts, 29.2 cm of snow was recorded at Halifax Stanfield airport yesterday, and a peak wind gust of 67 km/h was recorded during the storm.
