Mooseheads suffer 1st loss of the QMJHL season

The Mooseheads were handed their first loss of the season Monday on the road against the Charlottetown Islanders.

William Shields struck first on the powerplay for the Islanders, sending one past Moosehead goalie Jack Milner, who made his first start of the season, to take an early lead. Then, about halfway through the period, the Moose tied the game when Shawn Carrier beat Donald Hickey on the powerplay.

It would take until the third period for the tie to be broken when Charlottetown’s Matthew Butler beat Milner on the blocker side. Butler would add another goal after a misplay in the Herd’s defensive end to seal the 3-1 victory for the home side.
