Pedestrian dies, driver arrested after a pair of crashes in Halifax’s south end

Halifax Regional Police has confirmed a 21-year-old woman struck by a driver in Halifax on Monday evening has died of her injuries.

Officers arrived on the scene at Robie Street and Veterans Memorial Lane around 5:45 p.m. to find a pedestrian suffering from what they described as life-threatening injuries. 

Around the same time, officers received information that the same vehicle had been involved in another crash near the intersection of Beech Street and Jubilee Road.

Police arrested the driver, who will now face dangerous operation of a conveyance charges.

A police spokesperson confirmed the woman died of her injuries, in an email on Tuesday.

HRP says the investigation is ongoing. An update was expected from police on Wednesday.
