Police respond to fewer calls this past weekend

Compared to the long weekend, April 26-27 was quieter for Halifax Regional Police.

According to a press release, officers responded to 689 calls for service over the two days, and only had one “notable” call. This is in comparison to the Easter long weekend where over 1,000 calls were reported to police.

On Sunday, officers responded to a break-and-enter at an NSLC on Chain Lake Drive in the provincial capital. Several units responded, including a K9 one.

Two suspects were found and arrested at 11:25 p.m.

A 15-year-old and a 16-year-old are expected to appear at a youth court in the future. Both are facing charges of break-and-enter, theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
