Power restored to thousands after overnight outage

There were a number of residents in Halifax Regional Municipality who spent a long night in the dark after a power outage early Tuesday morning.

Nova Scotia Power reported a motor vehicle collision around 9:30 Monday evening was the cause of an outage that impacted an area that stretched from Chocolate Lake, to Ketch Harbour and West Pennant.

The utility restored electricity around 5:45 a.m. on Tuesday.
