MacKay Bridge to close Friday for overnight work and again on Monday

Some closures are coming to one of the harbour bridges over the next several days.

Halifax Harbour Bridges says the MacKay Bridge will be closed to all Dartmouth-bound traffic tonight from 8 p.m. to midnight.

The MacKay will then close to all Halifax-bound traffic on Monday night, again from 8 to midnight.

HHB says the closures will allow crews to lower the Windmill Road overpass after bearing replacement work is complete.

The Macdonald will not be closing, but the bridge commission is reminding that vehicles over 3,200 kg are not allowed on the Macdonald, except for transit buses, and bridge patrol will be enforcing that rule during the MacKay closures.
