Man charged with attempted murder after stabbing in downtown McDonald’s

A 19-year-old man was taken to hospital after a stabbing in downtown Halifax on Sunday evening.

Halifax Regional Police says officers responded to the stabbing at the McDonald’s on Spring Garden Road around 7:15 p.m. Police say the victim was taken to hospital in stable condition.

A suspect, also a 19-year-old man, was found nearby and arrested on attempted murder charges.

Police say it’s not believed the victim and suspect know each other, but there was a dispute leading up to the stabbing.

No further details have been released.
