A man in Dartmouth is facing charges of child luring after sharing explicit images with a person he believed to be underage.
Halifax Regional Police say on Wednesday, investigators were given information that a man had been communicating with a person he believed was a 15-year-old girl from the U.S., and was sharing photos and videos in addition to making plans to travel to meet the girl.
“The person he was communicating with was actually an undercover police officer from the United States,” regional police said in a media release.
The man, 32-year-old Ryan Richard Lamontagne of Dartmouth, was arrested Wednesday and has since been charged with with providing sexually explicit material to a child under 16 and luring a person under 16 by means of telecommunication.
