Man dead after weekend motorcycle crash in Chezzetcook

A man is dead after a motorcycle crash in rural HRM on the weekend.

The RCMP says just before midnight on Saturday, an officer on Highway 7 near Chezzetcook passed a motorcycle that police say was speeding.

According to police, the officer turned around and activated the lights and siren, but eventually turned those off when it was clear the motorcycle was continuing to accelerate.

That officer then came upon the motorcycle in a ditch and the driver lying in the roadway in Head of Chezzetcook.

The driver, a 42-year-old man from Ostrea Lake, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
