RCMP announce new commanding officer for Nova Scotia

There’s a new man in charge of the Nova Scotia RCMP.

The force announced yesterday that assistant commissioner Dan Morrow is now in charge of the Mounties as its new commanding officer in the province.

Morrow joined the police force in his home province of Manitoba in 1992 but has been in Nova Scotia since 2007.

He has served in various capacities and communities across the province, most recently as criminal operations officer.

“I pride myself on learning from the people I work with and the communities I serve, and I’m approaching this role with the same commitment – to listen, learn, and contribute to the strength of our division and the safety of our province,” said Morrow in a release from the RCMP.

He takes over from assistant commissioner Dennis Daley who had been in command since 2022 and retired in March.
