Gas prices to change again as interrupter is invoked

An interrupter will change the price of gas once again after prices already dropped on Friday.

The Energy Board made its weekly adjustment, choosing to drop the price for regular self-serve gasoline by 3.4 cents to 192.8.

It’s a different story on the diesel side, as prices for that fuel jumped two cents to 218.1.

On Friday afternoon, the NSEB said it would be invoking its interrupter clause to change the price of gas on Saturday. This while the price of diesel will not be impacted.

The board did not indicate whether prices would be going up or down.

This time last year, gas was at 145.0 and diesel was 141.4.

The decrease follows a period of volatility driven by global supply concerns, shifts in refinery output, and fluctuating wholesale prices.
