Drugs and weapons seized during traffic stop in New Glasgow

A woman is facing a long list of charges following a traffic stop in New Glasgow.

According to New Glasgow Police, officers stopped the vehicle on East River Road on Saturday evening after identifying the driver had outstanding criminal charges.

Police say they arrested the woman without incident.

During the arrest, officers say the also discovered approximately 18 grams of suspected cocaine, brass knuckles, a digital scale, and an undisclosed amount of cash.

As a result, the 32-year-old suspect has been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of cocaine with the purpose of trafficking.

The charges are in addition to outstanding charges that inlcuding fraud under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime and three counts of unauthorized use of a credit card.

She has been released from custody with conditions and will appear in court at a later date.

New Glasgow Police say the investigation is ongoing.
