Cloudy week ahead in Halifax, rain expected through weekend

A rainy weekend is in the Environment Canada forecast for Halifax, with an estimated total of 25-45 mm of rainfall projected.

On Saturday, you can expect a sunny but partially cloudy start to the day; temperatures will reach a high of 23 degrees. However, overnight more clouds will be rolling in, carrying rain and the risk of a thundershower going into the early morning. That will amount to a total of 10 to 20 mm of rain, the low is 18 degrees

Going into Sunday, those conditions are expected to continue. Cloudy skies will remain, carrying the risk of a thundershower throughout the morning and into the afternoon. Environment Canada says that rainfall will amount to a total of 15 to 25 mm. The high on Sunday is 22 degrees.

Rest of the week

For the rest of the week you can expect a mix of sun, clouds, and more rain coming into the city.

On Monday, cloudy skies will stick around after the last couple days of rain, expect some humidity and a high of 24 degrees. Overnight, there is a 60 percent chance of some rain in the early hours; the low is 17 degrees.

Tuesday morning those clouds will begin to clear, breaking into a mix of a sun and clouds for the rest of the day. Environment Canada says the high is 25 degrees. Overnight, skies will clear for the most part, and temperatures will cool down to a low of 14 degrees.

Additionally, on both Wednesday and Thursday you can expect those conditions to continue. A mix of sun and clouds and a high of 25 degrees is projected.

However, clouds will takeover again on Friday, bringing a 60 percent chance of showers throughout the day. The high for Friday is 22 degrees.
