Dartmouth transit terminal hits another delay

The new transit terminal in Dartmouth has hit another delay – and the transit union is furious.
A problem with storm sewers means the terminal may have to be redesigned and the whole project may have to be retendered.
Ken Wilson, president of the local Amalgamated Transit Union, tells the Herald the terminal should have been built by now and accuses the city of a lack of will.
Wilson points out how quickly the skating oval on the Commons was approved and then turned into a construction site.
Two bids for the new terminal came in four million dollars higher than expected, and regional council approved the additional expense. City officials say the latest complication shouldn’t drive the cost up any higher.
