Homes evacuated in Kentville after heavy rain causes flooding

By CityNews Halifax staff

Heavy rains on Thursday in the Kentville area saw some homes evacuated after a brook in the town flooded.

The Canadian Red Cross says the rain overwhelmed storm drains in the area, and when the brook flooded, at least 11 people were forced to evacuate from their homes.

Seven adults and four children were provided with emergency accommodations and meals by the Red Cross, while others managed to find a temporary place to stay on their own.

No injuries were reported.
