Police charge 7th person in murder of 16-year-old youth outside Halifax Shopping Centre

Regional police have charged another person in connection to the murder of a 16-year-old youth outside the Halifax Shopping Centre back in April.

Ahmad Maher Al Marrach died in hospital on April 22 after he was found injured in a parkade at the Halifax Shopping Centre.

Police said they arrested a 44-year-old woman on Wednesday who allegedly provided false information to investigators and assisted the accused in avoiding arrest.

She is scheduled to appear in provincial court on Friday to face one count of accessory to commit an indictable offence.

This all comes after a 31-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman, were previously charged with one count each of accessory to commit an indictable offence.

Previously, two 16-year-old youths and two 14-year-old youths were charged with one count each of second-degree murder.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
