Mooseheads’ forward Sprynar signs with Czech team

When Jan Sprynar recovers from injury, he won’t be returning to the Halifax Mooseheads.

The club says the 19-year-old forward has decided to return to his home country of Czechia, and he has signed with HC VERVA Litvinov of the Czech Extraliga.

Sprynar put up 29 points in 47 games for Halifax since being acquired from Shawinigan at last year’s trade deadline.

“The Mooseheads would like to thank Jan for his contributions to the team and wish him the best of luck in Litvínov, which is a 40 minute drive from his hometown of Zatec, Czechia,” the team said in a media release.

Halifax is currently on a Christmas break and will be back in action on Dec. 28 in Acadie-Bathurst.
