Board changes diesel prices early, up 6.2 cents

An interrupter clause issued on Monday forced the price of diesel up across Nova Scotia.

The Nova Scotia Energy Board increased prices from 204.0 to 210.2 on Tuesday. It’s a 6.2-cent increase on July 14.

This time last year, Nova Scotians were paying 145.9 for gas and 160.4 for diesel

This is the second time fuel prices have gone up in only four days. Last week, after the U.S. launched new airstrikes on Iran, the board altered the costs of both diesel and gas in the province.

Both took huge leaps, but diesel saw almost a double-digit rise.

This comes as tensions in the Middle East deteriorated after the Americans launched new airstrikes against Iran early Thursday, and Iran responded by hitting Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar in crossfire that again threatened an interim deal intended to help end the war in the Persian Gulf.
