A Dartmouth man has been fined over $28,000 for creating fictitious T4 slips.
The Canada Revenue Agency says Davison Mark Downey was sentenced last week on five charges under the Income Tax Act.
A CRA investigation determined Downey created the false T4s and filed them with his 2005 to 2009 tax returns.
They reported income and deductions from two fake employers and led to what the CRA says were excessive refunds.
