HRM announces KANA’TA: Canada Day programming

The Halifax Regional Municipality has announced its plans for the July 1 holiday.
The new, re-envisioned format developed in close collaboration with Indigenous communities with include a variety of cultural, musical, and family-oriented events.
KANA'TA: Canada Day 2022 will include Mawio'mi on the Commons, the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo Canada Day Parade, a Dartmouth Summer Sunshine Series free concert.
There will also be a KANA'TA x Grand Oasis Festival free concert hosted by Garratt Gloade and featuring co-headliners Neon Dreams and Crown Lands.
Free passes are available online.
HRM will put on three separate, community-based fireworks and pyrotechnics shows in Halifax, Dartmouth, and Bedford.
There will also be free admission at both the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 and the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site.
And since July 1 falls on a Friday, transit will be free that day.
