Regional police have charged a man in connection to the murder of Simon Joseph Morrison last year in Halifax.

In the early morning hours of April 16, 2022, police responded to a weapons call on Brunswick Street and found a man who had been shot to death.

The Medical Examiner identified the victim as Simon Joseph Morrison, who was 18-years-old at the time and the manner of death was ruled a homicide.

Earlier this week, a Canada-wide arrest warrant was issued for 19-year-old Keishawn Elton Jerius Stephenson of Halifax.

On Wednesday, officers arrested Stephenson in Markham, Ontario.

He is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court next week to face a charge of second-degree murder.

Police say they believe this was not a random incident, and are not looking for additional suspects.
