A three-storey house in the south end has minimal damage after a fire near Ivanhoe St. Monday morning.
Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency division chief Dave Slaunwhite said they were called to the scene at around 9:20 a.m.
“Roofers were up in the roof doing some patchwork and caught part of the roof on fire,” he said.
He said crews knocked the flames down quickly so most of the damage was contained to the exterior of the home.
One of the workers had to be checked over by paramedics for smoke inhalation.
