Five youths are facing charges after three other youths were sexually assaulted on a Halifax Transit bus last month in the Lower Sackville area.

At around 9:45 p.m. on Saturday, October 22, RCMP say the group got on the #87 bus that was going from the Dartmouth terminal to the Lower Sackville terminal.

"Shortly after getting on the bus the five youths approached three other youths, who were already on the bus, and sexually assaulted them," Mounties allege in a news release.

The accused range in age from 12 to 14 years old.

They've been released on conditions and will appear in Halifax Youth Justice Court at a later date to face charges of sexual assault, uttering threats and criminal harassment.

Investigators would like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed what happened.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 902-490-5020 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
