Man charged with stunting on Highway 118

A man has been handed a hefty fine after being charged with stunting on Highway 118 near Wright Avenue Thursday morning.

Halifax Regional Police pulled him over at around 7:30 a.m. after an officer caught him going 153 km/h in a 100 km/h zone. 

The fine for stunting is $2,422.50 and six points are assigned to the driver's record. 

In addition, the 36-year-old's licence was suspended for a week and the vehicle was impounded.

He was also ticketed for operating a motor vehicle without valid insurance. 

Anyone who spots a dangerous driver is asked to call 911.
