Police concerned about Halifax fight club

Teens in Dartmouth are getting together to beat each other up, then post videos of the fights, online.

The videos have been pulled down, but teens who look to be high-school age fight in the snow in their t-shirts.

“Some kind of fight club, and that these clubs are taking place in the Northbrook area of Dartmouth,” says Cst. Brian Palmeter with Halifax police, who says the fights appear to be consensual.

Palmeter says these aren’t just schoolyard fights; there’s the chance someone could get seriously hurt, or worse.

“A teen going down very dramatically onto his head, and that’s the same type of blow that has caused death in a number of cases we’ve investigated,” says Palmeter.

He says they’re in the process of tracking down the people responsible, and says anyone in the area should report fights to police.
