Liberal MLA steps down after 11 years in legislature

The Liberal MLA for Glace Bay has abruptly resigned after 11 years in the legislature.
Dave Wilson states in a release that he tendered his resignation to the Speaker of the House on March 11, effective immediately.
He also resigns his position as chair of the provincial Liberal caucus.
In the release, he says he feels he can no longer fulfill his duties and responsibilities and will make no further comment.
Wilson was named in the auditor generals’ report released in February identifying questionable MLA expenses in the last three years.
