Mooseheads to stay in Metro Centre

The Halifax Mooseheads will play at the Halifax Metro Centre for another five years.
The Quebec Major Junior team signed a new lease agreement with Trade Centre Ltd. Tuesday.
Mooseheads majority owner Bobby Smith says after a dismal year, which saw attendance numbers dip, he expects the upcoming season to be different. He says his young players will be a year older and with some good draft picks he’s expecting bigger things next season.
“We expect the improvement of our 17-year-olds to be massive next year,” says Smith. “And we expect to bring on some real high quality players to our team.”
The team has five picks in the first 37 selections of the draft, as well as the third overall pick in the European draft.
“We’ll find out this Thursday if we have the first or second pick in the draft,” says Smith.”There’s no Sidney Crosby this year, but you look at the guys who become great players and sometimes they’re the 8th, 12th, 14th player in the draft and that’s why we’ve been working so hard to look at these guys.”
