The provincial finance minister says small businesses in Nova Scotia should question the group that represents them.
Graham Steele says the Canadian Federation of Independent Business is one of the most difficult groups he works with.
He says the confrontational style of some leaders is reducing the group’s influence.
“The CFIB spokespeople in Halifax have this thing about them that I find just completely unconstructive,” he said. “I don’t think they’re serving their members very well.”
Steele made the comments after the federation issued an angry news release saying it hadn’t been invited to today’s meetings in Cumberland County about
cross-border shopping.
