Drunk driving stop turns into grow-op bust

A drunk driver led police to a marijuana grow-op.

The RCMP spotted an impaired driver on Beaver Bank Road early Monday morning and tried to pull him over. The driver ignored the lights and sirens, then he pulled into a home on Beaver Bank Road and crashed into a concrete barrier in the driveway.

After arresting the man, police found hydroponic equipment inside the car. Upon a further search of the area they found a pound of marijuana bud in the garage and more than two dozen plants along with growing equipment.

A 23-year-old man will be in court at a later date.
