Cape Breton couple wins big

The big cheque was presented at Atlantic Lottery headquarters in Moncton this morning to a North Sydney couple.
Robert Rose and Vicki MacLellan won a million dollars in the Maxx Millions draw on Friday night.
Robert says the house the couple recently bought will be paid off very quickly now.
“We’re going to have a mortgage burning party,” he said. “We’re paying the mortgage off as soon as we go home tomorrow.”
Vicki says the couple is also planning a wedding, and a trip.
“We were saving for a trip to New York in the fall to do our Christmas shopping,” she said. “We don’t have to save now to go. We can go right now.”
The winning ticket was bought at Brewer’s Dairy in North Sydney, Robert says he always buys his tickets there.
Vicki is planning to take the summer off from her job as a stevedore at Marine Atlantic, while Robert says he has two more employment insurance cheques before he was due to head back out crab fishing.
