DELTA (NEWS1130) – Some parents in North Delta say more could have been done to prevent yesterday’s violent attack that left 15-year-old girl dead.
One parent, who didn’t want to be identified, says kids are attacked in the area on a regular basis. “From what I understand from my son who is a high school student in North Delta that there have been several random attacks in [the city.] My husband warned my son not to go in this part of town … and kids were being attacked randomly.”
She says she is angry police haven’t done more to address the problem.
Delta Police say they do not know if the attack was random. But, Jeff, whose family members attend the same school as the 15-year old did, says the girl had only recently been the victim of another attack. “They’ve told me that maybe a bear spray was used on her at Delta Park two Fridays or Saturday nights ago.”
