Police are looking for a group of suspects following a swarming near the Halifax Common.
The 24-year-old victim was walking on Cogswell Street around 11:30 Monday night when he was approached by five men who demanded he empty his pockets.
When the thieves decided he wasn’t going fast enough they started rooting in the man’s pockets. That’s when he was struck from behind and kicked while on the ground.
The suspects got away with cash, keys and a cell phone. They fled on foot.
The suspects are described as four black males in their 20’s between 5’9″ and 6′. One of them had facial hair and a red jacket with an “Exco” logo on the back.
The fifth suspect is described as a white male in his late teens with dirty blonde hair.
