Pipe bomb found in West Vancouver

WEST VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A man out walking his dog found the bomb, out in the open on a trail near the park’s tennis courts and playground. He said it was about a foot long, black and had caps on both ends.

Corporal Fred Harding says it caused a huge inconvenience as part of the highway was closed and people were asked to leave their homes. “This was a weapon. It was designed to injure and maim and we need to find out who put this down.”

People who live nearby say teenagers party in the park a lot. Harding adds it’s too early to link this bomb to one found at a West Vancouver school last year.
