Lower Sackville man charged after brutal beating

A 22-year-old man is facing several charges related to an attack in Lower Sackville on the weekend.

A man showed up in hospital Friday night with head injuries that were described as life threatening.

The Herald reports police arrested Stephen Daniel MacKinnon of Cobequid Road on Saturday and searched a home on Cobequid Road on Sunday afternoon.

He appeared in court Monday facing charges that include aggravated assault, obstructing police, and breaching probation.

MacKinnon’s lawyer says he will not ask for bail.

The case returns to court March 14.
