Police investigate murder in Trenton

New Glasgow police are investigating a homicide in the community of Trenton.

Police arrived on the scene in front of a residence at 22 Mechanic Street around 8 p.m. Tuesday after a 911 call reporting shots being fired.

RCMP Northeast Major Crime Unit along with officers from Pictou County RCMP and Stellarton police have been called in to help with the investigation.

There’s no details on the victim or on any suspects.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477.)

It’s the second murder of the week for Nova Scotia. Early Monday morning, Springhill police found the body of Tracy Ann Rudderham, 37, in her mobile home.

Zachary Quinn Brake, 18, appeared in court Tuesday facing a charge of second-degree murder.
