Police investigate second flashing case in Halifax

Police say there have been two flashing incidents in downtown Halifax over the last week, but it’s not clear yet whether the cases are connected.
A young woman walking near Queen and Morris around 8 p.m. Tuesday was approached by a man who had his pants open and was exposing his genitals.
Staff Sgt. Barb Saunders tells News 95.7, the encounter ended there.
“She went on her way and the party did not follow her in any way,” she said.
Last Thursday evening, a woman walking along Harvey Street around 10 p.m. was approached by a man asking for the time. When the woman turned around, she saw the man had his pants open and was exposing his genitals.
She walked away, and after a short distance the man started to follow her. The woman ran to her home and called police.
Saunders says it’s not clear yet whether the two acts were committed by the same man.
“They’re still being investigated and that could be a possibility, but the first one is still under investigation and I can’t say more at this time,” she said.
The suspect in Tuesday’s case is described as 30 to 40 years old with facial hair and a slim build, wearing a tuque and blue jacket.
The suspect in Thursday’s case is a black man about 5-feet-seven-inches tall with a slim build, in his late 20s or early 30s, with dark freckles on his face and hair in braids. He was wearing a black tuque and a black puffy jacket.
