Mason Raymond is closer to making season debut

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Canucks could have winger Mason Raymond back in the lineup soon.
The speedy winger, who has missed five months after breaking his back in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final, took a spot in practice on a line with Ryan Kesler and David Booth.
“As far as health-wise, condition-wise he’s fine,” says Canucks Coach Alain Vigneault. “It’s just a matter of him feeling ready to go and a couple of good practices.”
Raymond said that he has no definitive timetable for his return.
It wasn’t the only good injury news coming out of morning practice. Goaltender Roberto Luongo took full practice. Luongo has missed two games while he recovers from what the team has called an “upper body injury.”
Today the Canucks returned goalie Matt Climie to the AHL Chicago Wolves. Climie had been recalled from the minors on the weekend to backup Cory Schneider in Sunday’s 2-1 overtime victory over Ottawa.
Defenceman Keith Ballard also took full practice after missing Sunday’s game with back spasms suffered in last Wednesday’s game against Chicago. Ballard said that he will see how he feels tomorrow. Canucks begin a three-game road trip in Denver against the Colorado Avalanche Wednesday night.
