Transit negotiations set for third, possibly final, day

Transit union and city officials will be back at the bargaining table today, still hoping to avoid a work stoppage on Thursday.
The two sides met Sunday for three days of talks.
Metro Halifax reports the employer brought a new offer to the table Monday morning, and union reps spent most of the day reading it over.
Amalgamated Transit Union Local 508 vice-president Shane o’Leary tells the paper there’s been some movement from Metro Transit, but he’s not sure it’s enough.
One of the union’s main concerns is the possibility of having some transit departments outsourced.
The transit workers will be off the job Thursday if the two sides can’t make a deal.
