Autopsy scheduled on man found dead on Montague Road

An autopsy will be conducted today to determine what happened to the man found dead in Montague Gold Mines.
The man’s body was found on the side of Montague Road late Sunday night.
Police say only that the victim is a 55-year-old Dartmouth resident, and they’re treating the death as suspicious.
Investigators moved from Montague Road to a home on Cannon Terrace in Dartmouth Monday, where they collected and bagged several items.
Local resident Richard Hammer tells Global, it’s unsettling in the quiet community.
“We see the forensic unit and we figured it’s somethign serious, don’t know if it’s a murder or something,” he said. “And it’s shocking, when it happens in your own neighbourhood.”
Major crime investigators won’t say whether there’s any indication the man is a victim of homicide, however RCMP Const. Tammy Lobb says there’s no threat to the general public.
“We can confirm with the public that this was not a random incident,” she said. “We’re asking if anyone has any information, may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the Montague Road area or the Cannon Terrace area to please contact any RCMP detachment or Regional Police detachment.”
The Herald reports the home at 14 Cannon Terrace is owned by Carla Balsor and James (Sandy) Lyle, who is 55 years old.
Balsor is the registered owner of the Rodeo Lounge in Burnside. She did not speak to reporters on Monday.
