Police still searching for leads in 25 year-old murder investigation

Today marks the 25th anniversary of David Keddy’s murder and police are hoping someone will step forward to help them in their investigation.

Keddy’s body was found on June 5th, 1987, floating on a wooden raft in an isolated area of the Annapolis River, downstream from Nictaux.

Autopsy results showed he met with foul play.

Keddy was last seen alive on June 3rd after visiting his girlfriend in Nictaux.

Investigators believe he then walked along an abandoned train bed leading to a train trestle where a wooden raft was tied to it. That’s where his body was found.

RCMP Sgt. Brigdit Leger tells News 95.7 investigators did have some initial leads.

“We did a number of interviews and a site investigation but really there have been very few leads,” said Leger. “This file is still open so we’re really reaching out to the public hoping to generate some new information.”

A reward of up to $150,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Keddy’s killer.
