Today marks the one-year anniversary of the murder of James ‘Sandy’ Lyle.
The Dartmouth businessman died from an assassination-style gunshot wound to the back of his head. His body found in the Montague Road area of Montague Gold Mines on Feb. 19, 2012.
No one has been charged in his death.
The 55-year-old was the owner of the Rodeo Lounge.
Lyle had a connection to the Hells Angels. Back in 2001, he was charged with drug trafficking after a raid of the Halifax chapter of the biker gang.
Police cannot say hat might have been the motivation behind his death.
RCMP Cpl. Scott Macrae says they need more information.
“We believe there are people out there that have information that could lead to bringing those responsible to the courts.”
Police are asking anyone who saw suspicious activity in the Montague Road area or the Cannon Terrace area of Dartmouth last Feb. 19 to contact them.
