Mounties investigating how much teens drank prior to drowning

The RCMP say they are investigating how much alcohol was consumed before a small boat carrying five teenagers sank in a Cape Breton harbour, killing a 14-year-old boy.
Const. Brad Anderson says the Mounties have been told alcohol was involved in Saturday’s incident in Ingonish.
The body of Gregory Hibbs of Glace Bay was recovered from the harbour Wednesday after days of searching.
Anderson says the boy’s father identified the body.
The teen was among five young people in the wooden boat when it took on water in high waves and overturned about a kilometre from shore.
Police say the boat was taken without permission and that none of the teens was wearing a life-jacket at the time.
