Don’t drink and drive your boat, warns CSBC

The Canadian Safe Boating Council is asking you to think twice before drinking and boating this long weekend.

According to the CSBC, drinking and boating accounts for 40 per cent of boating-related deaths on Canadian waters. They say the combination of sun, wind and waves dramatically increases the effects of alcohol.

You could be charged with impaired driving even if your vessel isn’t motorized, like on a canoe, and those charges could lead to a drivers license suspension.
