We now know when the three hotly-anticipated Target stores in Metro Halifax will be opening.
In a news release, the American-based department store chain announced new locations in the Bedford Place Mall, Mic Mac Mall, and Bayers Lake will open on Sept. 17.
The opening is part of a new phase of store openings that will see 14 locations open across the country on the same date.
“We look forward to opening our first stores in Quebec and Nova Scotia as we carry out an unprecedented retail expansion covering all ten provinces across Canada this year,” said Target Canada President Tony Fisher, in the news release. “Quebec, Nova Scotia and Ontario offer a variety of culturally diverse markets and we look forward to serving our new guests and engaging with these great communities.”
Target currently has 68 stores open in former Zellers locations right across the country. A total of 124 Canadian stores will be open by the end of the year.
Canadian Target stores in some cities have received a lukewarm reception with complaints that the variety of merchandise and the prices are out of line with those featured in the U.S. locations.
