Above average temperatures expected this spring

Environment Canada is out with their three month forecast and it looks like Shubenacadie Sam was right.
Earlier this month, the groundhog predicted an early spring, and NEWS 95.7 meteorologist Richard Zurawski says that is what we’re expecting.
“What we’re looking at is warmer than normal temperatures, especially in Atlantic Canada.” he said. “We’re also looking at normal precipitation amounts.”
Zurawski said that means a beautiful spring where we’re more likely to get rain than snow.
He said it’s a continuation of the usually warm February we experienced where we had 3 or 4 days of record high temperatures.
“Even when we didn’t set record temperatures, it was very warm and close to the record many times,” he explained. “We really didn’t get much of a winter in February at all.”
He said this is as good as it gets for this time of year
Zurawski said we could get a few flurries along with rain Wednesday, and as for a system coming our way this weekend, he expects it to be mostly a rain event.
