Weather closes schools in West Hants, interrupts some flights

There are some delays and cancellations at the Halifax Stanfield International Airport, most are to and from Newfoundland, so if you’re heading there or expecting a visitor, check with the airline before leaving.

Environment Canada is warning of heavy snowfall in eastern Newfoundland.

The agency says an area stretching from Clarenville to Bonavista North could see up to 15 centimetres of snow.

There are also snow squall warnings in effect for Inverness and Victoria counties in Cape Breton.

Here in Halifax, there are no weather alerts or school cancellations Friday morning, however it could be a slick drive or walk into work.

The Annapolis Valley Regional School Board has closed West Hants schools because of road conditions in the area, schools remain open in Kings and Annapolis counties.

And the South Shore Regional School Board says New Ross Consolidated School is closed.
