Four facing charges after six-month investigation

Two men and two women are facing charges after Halifax Regional Police searched five locations in the municipality Thursday.
Police say a six-month investigation led them to execute search warrants at addresses in the 200 block of Spring Avenue, 100 block of Micmac Boulevard and 400 block of Portland Hills Drive in Dartmouth, the 200 block of Walter Havill Drive in Halifax and the 0-100 block of Charlotte Drive in Bedford.
They say close to a kilogram of cocaine was seized, along with over $400,000, a handgun and drug paraphernalia.
Brandy Sparks, 38, of Dartmouth has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime and money laundering.
Nathanial Sparks, 36, of Halifax has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime, money laundering and possession for the purpose of trafficking .
Jerrelle Johnston, 36, of Dartmouth has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, careless storage of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized and possession of a restricted/prohibited firearm with ammunition.
Merissa Herring, 36, of Halifax has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Nathanial Sparks, Jerrelle Johnston and Merissa Herring were scheduled to appear in court Friday morning. Brandy Sparks was released on appearance notice to appear in Dartmouth Court on Aug. 28.
